HUMANSCALE
Take a moment, look at how you are reading this newsletter. Are you leaning forward to look at your computer, is your back hunched over, are you squinting at the screen because you don’t have proper lighting? These are all things that lead to fatigue, headaches, and back problems. ITS had the great pleasure of learning from Humanscale about the importance of ergonmics in the workplace. They have an experienced representative come into your workplace to discuss and set up product for you to feel the difference of having your desk set up properly. They set up two workstations for us and the difference is undeniable.
If you would like more information about Humanscale, or would like to book a representative to come to your office contact the ITS Sales Team at https://itsconsultinginc.ca/contact/or 604-484-4308. Visit the Humanscale website at www.humanscale.com
ANTI-VIRUS SCAM ALERT
This is an important message from ITS Consulting Inc.
We want to bring to your attention a scam that is happening. A person will call and claim to be a representative of Microsoft or some affiliated company. They will then tell you that they have detected virus alerts (or something like this) from your computer and need to install software and/or connect to your computer in order to prevent the virus from attacking your system. They will then direct you to an on-line service that will allow them on to your system in order to “clean up” your computer. They will also ask for money in order to complete the service which may include giving a credit card number.
These kinds of scams also quickly mutate into other versions, so the description of the scam above will likely change. Neither Microsoft nor any of its affiliates will ever solicit this kind of information.
The numbers to look out for are as follows but not limited to:
1-510-943-3040, 1-661-380-3000, 1-510-943-3046
Here is supplemental reading for more information:

It is important to remember not to give out any personal information about yourself or the company you work for through the phone or online unless it was you who initiated the call. Also, never give access to work systems through on-line services unless it is through your IT service provider where there is a contract in place to do so.
